One of the most epic parts of being a nephalem in Sanctuary is that there are so many of us! On a daily basis, players are wracking their brains, stashes, and forums for new ideas on how to build a better demon slaying machine. The Hellforge is an iconic location steeped in lore and visited briefly in Diablo II – it is a place for getting dangerous deeds done. We wanted to bottle that same ethos and create a compendium of possible builds for players new and old to research, test, and iterate upon. We will scour the community’s offerings to bring you some of the more intriguing entries in celebration of innovation and inspiration for new creations.Welcome back to the Hellforge! Earlier this week, I highlighted the, so it only seemed fitting to provide you with a build that would benefit from such a game changing weapon. I didn’t have to look very hard, as many players have determined quite quickly that this bow is worth talking about. When I arrived at Arstiks, a player from the European server, and his post detailing his Kridershot build (the DH Ultimate Fun Build), my search was over.

Who here likes 4.7 million damage critical hits? This build is saved here:Let’s jump into analyzing this from top to bottom:. Elemental Arrow – Frost Arrow: The natural choice as the Kridershot makes this skill your Hatred generator. Arstiks went with Frost Arrow for the rune, which has wonderful area-of-effect (AOE) potential now that it has been reworked for Patch 2.0. Marked for Death – Grim Reaper: This is a damage buff, plain and simple. Arstiks suggests using this solely for Elites and Bosses, since you’ll likely be melting trash mobs too quickly to warrant putting up the mark. The Grim Reaper rune is an interesting choice, since it synergizes with Cluster Arrow (more to come specifically below) and the way that its Loaded for Bear rune increases damage only at the point of impact. Grim Reaper further spreads out that damage amongst any enemies in the vicinity of the marked target.

Shadow Power – Blood Moon: The best offense needs to be backed up by a solid defense and that’s what you get in this skill and rune combo. While many remember the Demon Hunters of old being incredibly squishy and “one shotty”, the changes to the pacing and mechanics of combat have brought them into a really good place in Patch 2.0. Shadow Power was most popular pre-2.0 for its Gloom rune, which provided free Life Steal and could also be “snapshotted” with channeling skills like Rapid Fire. Arstiks has chosen Shadow Power with Blood Moon for a nice boost to your Healing stat when you’re up in higher Torment levels and things start to get hectic. Companion – Wolf Companion: I have personally been running Companion since Day 1 of playing a Demon Hunter, but I have actually never used the Wolf before. All of the companions received some love/work for Patch 2.0 and now the Wolf is one of the most popular choices, according to the community chatter. This is another damage buff.

When you actively cast this skill and “summon” the Wolf, it gives you 30% increased damage for 10 seconds. The wolf itself attacks for 100% of your weapon damage and has been said to be a decent tank. Ideally, you would activate this skill right before you unload a bulb full of Hatred fueled Cluster Arrows on a Marked for Death elite pack. Preparation – Punishment: More Hatred = more damage. This skill and rune combination will make sure you have enough to finish the fight. Running a little counter to the defensive utility of Shadow Power, which also uses Discipline, Preparation with Punishment lets you trade 25 Discipline for 75 Hatred. I imagine the mode of operation here is Cluster Arrow nuking, popping Preparation to keep that going, and then by the time the pack starts to whittle you down and things are maybe looking grim (if the demons are not yet dead), you should have enough Discipline regenerated to pop an emergency Shadow Power.

Cluster Arrow – Loaded for Bear: Ah, we have saved the best for last. Here’s what the Kridershot enables – a second Hatred spender on your bar. With Elemental Arrow doing the brunt of the clean up duty on trash mobs, you should always enter elite fights with full Hatred and Arstiks says that’s when you go, go, go. Drop Cluster Arrows. Drop them often. With Loaded for Bear, this does 770% weapon damage at the point of impact while also dropping four grenades for AOE damage, each of which does 220% weapon damage.

Of course, all of this is buffed by Marked for Death and the Wolf Companion. It’s clear that this build is about big AOE damage. That’s how you’re going to mow down the most enemies as quickly as possible and that’s how you’re going to find the loot you’re so desperately searching for. (RNG, please.) The passives go hand in hand in furthering these goals:. Steady Aim – A situational damage buff. As long as you maintain a distance of 10 yards, your damage is increased by 20%. This coincides well with your goal of huge initial burst damage, since the playstyle suggests keeping the enemy just out of reach so that you can mark the elite you plan to target before you pop your Companion and unload the Cluster Arrows. Big.damage.numbers.

Cull the Weak – This provides direct synergy with your Elemental Arrows runed for Frozen Arrow. You will be able to clear trash that much faster and you can even start off a fight with an Elite/Boss by throwing out a few Frost Arrows to get the snare down. Now you’re benefiting from that additional damage boost of 20% to slowed enemies. Night Stalker – This is a great choice for synergy with Preparation runed for Punishment.

Since you’re essentially dumping your Discipline back into your Hatred pool at a rate of 1:3, that means every critical hit (which now grants 1 Discipline due to Night Stalker) essentially generates 3 Hatred for you. This passive gives you options. Scoring a few critical hits can also mean scaring up enough Discipline to get that essential Shadow Power activation as well.It makes a lot of sense, doesn’t it? You have a major nuke and the rest of the skills support making that nuke as deadly as possible and keeping you alive to continue utilizing it. The Kridershot simply adds an extra layer of icing on top of the cake, since it allows you to use a Hatred spender as a generator that has wonderful functionality in fueling more Cluster Arrows. Now, let’s watch as the build makes Torment III look like a cake walk. Arstiks has a few suggestions for us in terms of benchmarks to hit (and here is the for his Demon Hunter):PARAGON:fill the gaps in your gear with the paragon points if u can.Dex/Hatred (Alternating and testing between these)CritDmgAR (mine is super low)Resource ReductionSTATS:What to aim for:50% Crit350% CritDmg40% AS50k Life500-700 AR??

I have no idea, since i havent played my DH that muchIt’s clear that he values offense highly over defense, so this may not be the safest build for you Hardcore players, but the beauty here is that you can make adjustments on the fly from this template. Some people in suggested some changes that would aid in more efficient farming. What would you add or change? Any considerations you think Arstiks missed? How might this build evolve come Reaper of Souls and level 70 skills/gear?

Let’s discuss further in the comments. Also, if you have a build you’d like to have us highlight in a future Hellforge, email me at Leviathan@BlizzPro.com!
